Birthday Cake
It's my party and I'll GRIPE if I want to...
Last week I celebrated another birthday (YAY ME!). Yes it was fun and I had a great day, but I must say, I'm quite disappointed with the marketing executives from some of my favorite brands. What happened to marketing that was getting more personal? How could they forget me? On my birthday?
In all I received two personalized birthday wishes/deals from business. One was from my State Farm auto insurance agent, and another from Abercrombie. I'm very upset by this because the amount of SPAM and bulk emails shows that I'm on many more mailing lists than these two companies, most of which asked me my birthday when I signed up.
I wasn't expecting 50% off discounts or anything outrageous like that, but a quick "Happy Birthday, come see what we've got new in stock today" would have been nice at the least.

A Christmas Gift Marketing Lesson
As the weekend draws to a close, I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating with their families. I was sitting around with friends earlier today and we were all discussing the various things that had been given to us from family and friends.
